We are very happy to have a white Boxing Day and with 34cm of overnight snow on the lawn at Snowball Chalet it has transformed the ski resort into a winter wonderland again. The really good news is that it is forecast to get heavier for the next few hours and right now it is dumping.
The cumulative total for the season on the Snowball lawn including the 5cm from a couple of days ago and the 20cm on the 15th of December is 179cm. Today the day that Madarao has hit the annual Thredbo average of 179cm per season. And we just are 6 days into our season at Madarao and Tangram with the mountain fully opening on the 20th of December. Go Japow!
Madarao really knows how to turn it on and our new staff are marvelling at just how fast the snow builds up here. Normally when it snows it really snows and today is no exception. So excited for the season to unfold. But as far as today goes this is the best boxing day sale there is. Lots of snow!!!
Pic today is of the staff party. It was a feast and so fun and such a lovely start to the season. We did a home made KFC to stay true to Japan's traditional Christmas Celebration but of course it was done in a very fancy Snowball Japan way.
